I saw it all at Sallisaw

Okay, maybe not.

There were some slowdowns on I-40. Imagine that. I’m only eating one meal a day on my trip. Saves on pit stops. Tonight’s stop in Oklahoma is just another one-nighter. So not a lot to report. It’s hot. And buggy. I’m glad I bought window screens for my Outback. I named him Obie by the way. I know… so original. I’m going to need all four screens tonight.

Lakeside RV Park is kind of nice. The guy let me park by the guest house, and only charged me $20. There’s electrical to charge my power cube, which will allow me to have all the coffee I want. Although I don’t think I’ll be lounging tomorrow morning I think it’s going to be a hit the road kind of day.

On a sobering note, I saw a lot of signage relating to the trail of tears and the Native American heritage here from that. Having driven from the mountains of East Tennessee down here I can’t help but think of the comparison. Breaks my damn heart.

Here’s a look at my setup for today.

Obie’s spot for the night.
Not a bad little spot.
Right across from the office. So no funny business.
A wee bit of a busy highway.
I’m sitting up there right now publishing this post.

Tomorrow I’ll be overnighting in the land of enchantment, New Mexico. Near Tucumcari.

Peace and love y’all. Marv
