Texas and New Mexico

Solo traveling presents its difficulties. Especiallly in taking pictures while driving. As in it’s pretty much impossible. I have a blurry and unreadable picture of the “welcome to New Mexico” sign as evidence.

Exhibit A

But I get ahead of myself. After leaving OK and entering Texas my goal was to stop at the welcome center and take some I’m in Texas pictures. There was indeed a “rest area” just after entering. Only Spartans could have rested there. Literally a paved area off the interstate. But I could at least take a picture of a Texas sign as evidence I was there.

Exhibit B

And the some great wind farms in the Texas panhandle.

I was just a little worried about passing that truck.

Another missed photo opportunity was a crop duster. Swooping banked turns. Tight. Perilously close to the ground. It was magnificent to watch.

And welcome to New Mexico

This one wasn’t too bad.

New Mexico had a properly welcoming center; albeit the welcome center was closed for an undisclosed holiday. The rest rooms were open though. So I was able to rest. I definitely want to return to New Mexico, in Tucumcari there’s a dinosaur museum. And the scenery was beautiful. Much better than my pathetic photography skills demonstrate.

Very cool.
Obie and a windex blue sky.
Gorgeous. You’ll have to take my word for it though.

And the travels continue

Peace and love. Marv
