Tucumcari and Conchas Lake State Park

I had a nice dinner on Route 66!

I did get my kicks!

I stayed at Conchas Lake State Park located a little more than thirty miles northwest of Tucumcari. The drive up there was along this desolate two lane blacktop. It had a lonesome feel to it. Ranch land on either side. The occasional bored cow throwing a casual gaze my way.

I had no signal at the park, so I’m posting at Starbucks near the Arizona state line.

Here’s some pictures including a selfie of yours truly. I’m thinking of publishing a memoir of my travels. I’m thinking the title could be Travels with Knucklehead.

Neat covered table. The sun was relentless.
Just look at Obie’s smile. So cute.
It’s not the years, it’s the mileage.
A tree I need to identify.
The evening view.

Leaving Conchas Lake the drive back to Tucumcari had some nice views.

And with that I am back on the road. With knucklehead.

Peace and love. Marv
