It’s been two days…

Since I’ve showered! You’d better hold your nose. Well, not actually. I have showered now. I am in Taos tonight. The Kaibab Lake campground I stayed at for two nights didn’t have anything but a vault toilet. Right next to my campsite. Convenient, and a neat competition on who smelled worse, me or it. The night before that I overnighted at Conchas Lake state park had a shower facility. But I mentioned in that post that the bathhouse had been overrun by bugs of all sorts. I didn’t have my phone with me or I’d have taken a pic. The toilets, urinals, sinks, and showers were a smorgasbord of bugs.

The drive up to Taos was uneventful. After breaking off to go through Santa Fe and to Taos was amazing. The Rio Grande river runs right by the road. As I climbed up to the Taos valley, at one point there was a canyon the Rio Grande had cut. Sadly the road was narrow and windy and there was a bit of traffic. I shall return to this area. I love it. So far. I had some great New Mexican food at a local restaurant.

And now, some photos.

More to come. Peace and love. Marv
