And of course I’m talking about sleep. Which was great. Just the right temp, my fan on low. For an RV park, Taos Valley RV Park is really nice. I would definitely recommend.
I’m doing some exploring in old Taos today. Just some light urban (Taos urban) exploring. I parked by Kit Carson Park, and it looks like there might be something going on there today. I’ll check it out.
But I would be remiss if I didn’t channel the aughts and share a picture of my breakfast. It’s a contender for highlight of the day. I’m at Tomorrow and Tomorrow (TnT). ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend.

FWIW, I’m still in bliss from the shower yesterday evening. So nice. As a side note, and since this is a blog where the blogger is required to share things no one cares about, I have had a new hair care regimen for a month or more now. I have ceased and desisted with the shampoo. Instead I’m using my own recipe of a baking soda shampoo. Water, baking soda, a tiny bit of coconut oil, and some essential oil. I am pleased with the results so far. And I’m only using this every two or three days. I am channeling the years of my youth you might say.
Speaking of shampoo, I think I may have taken inspiration from my friend Daniel. Before I retired we were having our Friday end of day, Zoom chat of general topics. No work talk allowed. The conversation turned to shampoo, I can’t remember why. Someone asked if we followed the rinse and repeat mandate per the instructions. Daniel chimed in with “sounds like something from big shampoo.” We all laughed, someone rolled on snare.
My morning perusal of the shops of Taos was just the right amount of fruitful. I walked away from more than I bought. it is hot today. But in the shade, with this breeze, it is quite pleasant. Of course the chocolate and vanilla shake from The Taos Cow could be expediting the cool feeling.

Downtown Taos
I’ve heard that Taos has an Asheville NC vibe. Should it be the other way around maybe? I’m betting Taos came first. Vibe-wise. I really like Taos, and the Taos valley. I want to come back and spend some time here. There is so much to do in the area.

Campsite and Late Lunch, plus…
I decided to eat a late lunch and skip dinner tonight. Get ready for the road tomorrow. I ate at Antonio’s Real Mexican Restaurant. Guy Fieri ate there! I wasn’t terribly hungry so just had some street tacos, not the illegal burrito that Guy recommended. It was very good.

Also some more pictures of the campsite, their cool landscaping.

And finally, on my way back from Antonio’s (I walked there), I had seen previously the Taos Ceramics Center. A place that has pottery supplies, classes, and creator space. And a gallery of people’s work. I bought a few pieces, which are now meticulously bubble-wrapped. I’ll take pics when I get back home. But here are some pics of things I didn’t buy.

Kit Carson
In 2025 Kit Carson would be considered a controversial figure. Even historically. The Wikipedia entry has this subtitle, “American frontiersman, ethnic cleanser, and guide (1809–1868)”
In his early years he leaned towards violence. He was pro-war, and pro-westward expansion.
When I was young I read of him, and it was centered on his trapping and guide credits. I marveled at his pluck. I still do. I marvel at all the people who undergo great hardship because of their determination. I have weighed the pros and cons of getting back out of bed because I forgot to brush my teeth. I make no excuses for his actions, and will not judge anyone for their feelings about him. In one of the pictures I’m going to post here someone has etched their feelings over his picture on a marker. I can’t disagree.

Peace and love y’all. Marv
