That’s a lot of red rocks!

Yep, it was a lot of red rocks. And it was all spectacular. Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods. As a geology nerd, I’m almost at rock overload (no I’m not). At Red Rocks they were setting up for a concert, Charlie Crockett was playing that night. We got to hear part of the sound check then they ran us off. And thanks to my friend JP for the title of this blog post.

Obligatory pictures…

Guess what… more red rocks

Garden of the Gods was a wonderful stop. Glad to have seen it. Apparently (spoilers) two surveyors were here and one said, “this would make a great beer garden.” The other responded, “A beer garden? Nay, with this splendor it is a Garden for the Gods.” I agree, but the beer garden wasn’t a bad idea. 😊

A very nice paved path allowed us to circle and weave between the outcroppings.

Pictures you ask. Well, don’t mind if I do.

Every trip out must have a return

And this one was interesting. I am having a difficult time trying to describe how great our next stop was, just because it is really trivial in comparison to all the natural wonders and beauty we saw. But I must include it…

And lastly a couple of pics from the drive back. The way these mountain outcroppings have eroded leaving interesting and awe-inspiring sights is really cool. One area we drove through is called Castle Rock. I think I know why.

And that is just the thinnest slice of the amazing day in Colorado.

Peace and love y’all. Marv
