The purpose of this trip is family time. And yesterday sort of kicked that off. Had a great reunion. Ethan and Hana gave Korean-themed gifts, They are so sweet and thoughtful.

Speaking of gifts, Colorado Caleb gave me a vintage axe! This will come in handy for my boondocking and camping where fires are allowed. Wyoming and Colorado are too beautiful to ruin with fire. And there are so many fires already in Colorado. Heartbreaking.

To close out the evening we went to visit my son Caleb’s friends. Then we went to a nice little bar called Stodgy’s. My first drink was an Amaro Seltzer Spritz. Quite tasty. Amaro is a component of my new favorite cocktail, the Paper Plane. (I’m going to call my mixes the Lady Bug, you’ll find out why later.) After that I got a tasty Mexican Lager. There was a food truck there.

I should have taken a pic of the thing, I want to share the good word of places I patronize. It was Georgia Boys Southern BBQ. And it was delicious! I did have a mishap walking back to the table. I had two sauce cups, things started slipping and soon I had spicy mustard sauce on my ear, beard, leg and my fresh clean shorts. Ugh. The BBQ was still good.

The conversation at Stodgys was amazing. One of the things I love about life is when folks get together and talk about interests, questions, funny things, and all the hubbub that makes our heart’s beat. Wonderful times.

Today I’m going cowboy boot shopping with Ethan and Hana, then we are all going to head back up to Terry Bison Ranch.

The shopping trip was a success, and I have some new boots! And now after all this excitement, I am totally knackered. More tomorrow.

Remember that out west survival kit I mentioned? Yeah, I need to get on that.
