It’s Thursday morning and I’m enjoying some delish coffee. I’m waking up slowly today. I slept well, my sluggishness may be due to my hours in dreamland. I have some chores to do this morning. Laundry, shower, and such. I’ve had an M&M canister filled with quarters in my center console since around 2017; remnants of my time living in Savannah GA. Feeding parking meters y’know.
Laundry complete, even the special one where I step under a spray of water and launder my body. That did feel good. Now why did I do all this? (Other than general human cleanliness) Glad you asked. Today was the day we went to the Larimer County Registrar and Recorder to submit the marriage certificate. In the eyes of Colorado they are married, and by the powers of reciprocity, so to by the USA. Congratulations Ethan and Hana.
We had a bit of an ordeal. Someone in our familial group was feeling sick, and was cajoled into going to a hydration clinic for an IV. They messaged me, and well… you know me. I’m all about setting an example alongside. So I opted for one as well. Actually, though I wasn’t the actual sick one, I was feeling a bit peaked. I asked for the stick as well. I don’t recall all the things I got, but saline, B vitamins, some other minerals like magnesium, and it was great. I did not hop out of the chair like a leprechaun, but I wasn’t quite as feeble. Life is grand folks.
After the IV, someone was hangry (this one was me), so we had a taco next to the OnusIV place. They went down quite well. After this it was back to the apartment for marriage certificate submission preparation. Actually picture preparation. They are such a lovely couple. What… a pic? Well, okay. And this one is officially cleared by that lovely couple.
After the registrars office, we did some photos, and then walked downtown. Or rather the square I think they call it. Fort Collins square that is. We had made reservations at The Still Whiskey Steaks. Folks. If you like steak. Oh man. The filet I had was among the best I’ve ever had, if not the best. The service was superb, Sean (or some variant of spelling, not sure) was our server and he was so nice. I’m going to be thinking about that meal for a while. I’d say that tells a lot about where I am in life now doesn’t it?!
After this it was back to the campsite and settling in for the night. Tomorrow it’s off to Red Feather Colorado for one or two nights. I’m going to leave Stella set up, and take the trailer with my camping gear. I understand I will get to sleep in an RV, but just in case I’ll have my popup tent. For me or someone.
Ya know… I’m writing this Friday morning, so I’ll save the next post exclusively for Red Feather. I just have to say I had more delish coffee. Thank you Caleb for the manual-pump espresso maker, and the batter-powered whisk to froth the warmed milk. Glamping… it’s great.
All right y’all, have a great day (whichever day it is when you read this), and remember, peace and love…
Marv
